Recovery

Brandon had his surgery on monday. After four hours of sitting in a waiting room worried and imaging the all the worst possibilities he was done. It went so well they didn't graft bone from his hip, but instead took a piece of his radius bone in his arm and put it into his wrist and rerouted arteries to feed the new bone marrow. It went so well he didn't have to spend the night and was able to come home with me. He is in a lot of pain and has months of recovery but I am thankful that is all. Kohan stayed with his G-ma and called Brandon last night to check on him and told Brandon he could have his wrist since dads was broke. Kohan came home this morning and is very worried about his daddy. He informed me his wrist hurt bad too and we needed to wrap it and prop it up on pillows like dad.
He idolizes his father in every way.
I am just glad he is around for Kohan and Paige. :)

Runaway..Driver Wanted

Kohan was mad at me so he packed his bags (all toys mind you) and wanted to go to Nanna's house. I told him I would not assist him in his runaway plans. He informed me that he could not drive. So I told he better wait for a driver... no one ever came. So he came in the house and decided he wanted dinner.
And then I open the door to Paiges room and this is what I found :
My little Girl can now stand in her crib. And she was estatic about it. She hasn't even mastered crawling yet. So I had tear apart her crib and lower it so I didn't find her on the ground.
Wonder what tomorrow will bring.

Kids Korral

Poor Kohan doesn't feel well. He had a temp of 102.5 for two days.
He had to get tested for Swine Flu.
Turns out he just has a respitory infection.
He hated this mask and made sure all the nurses knew "no shots for me."
Note: He is since feeling better from this picture being taken.

Paige Feels Fine. She is just a happy girl.
Her nick name from daddy: Paigee the Pooh.
He sings to her, "Paigee the pooh, Paigee the pooh, looking for her pots of hunny..."
Can you see why?

Graduation Day

He has waited seven years for this day.
Two years of a lineman school at Chandler Gilbert.
One year of a pre apprenticeship and four years of a very demanding apprenticeship which consisted of numerous day school, night school, countless rotations that took him all over the state and away from his family - sometimes for days, weeks, even months at a time. Many JPE evaluations, oral and written test that were studied for on my couch with Scott ( another apprentice that became a regular around the Evans household - could probably be considered a member of the Evans Family to some lol) for hours reciting information out of the Linemans Handbook. Many nights of worry about grades and Thousands of stories about lineman work ( trust me you start to understand things like a powergrade after hundreds of these stories) and nodding my head and pretending I am listening 100%.
He waited for May of 2009 to come. This is the day he topped out. This is the day he became a lineman.
We celebrated this event on October 4, 2009 - Brandon James Evans Graduation Day.
I guess you can say he graduated with the highest of honors - APS Apprentice of the Year.
He now has three diplomas/certificates to prove his accomplishment. He officially has his little Lineman card to put in his wallet.
And he could not be any prouder.
And neither can his entire family.
Way to go Boys! You all deserve it!APS CLASS OF 2009

Paige loves life. She loves it even more now that she can see the world from a sitting position.

She might love it more with hair. Still no hair.. oh well.. Still love my bald beauty.

All is well.

Just letting you know I am still alive and well. It has been awhile since my last post due to the fact my computer has yet again taken a dive. So I am patiently waiting for Brandon to finish his "research" into laptops to get a new computer.

Quick update on the the family starting with . Me.
I have started the CNA and Phlebotomy program at NPC and I have successfuly stuck my first victim in Phlebotomy and can draw blood using a butterfly needle and the veins in your hand.
I am learning to Team Rope. YA learning. Brandon bought me a horse named Foxy Roxy as Kohan calls her, and I am learning SLOWLY to head. ( for those of you not into Roping its not sexual get your mind out of the gutter. I catch the horns and drag the steer for Brandon the rope the legs.)
I have grown beautiful roses bushes which was on my list to accomplish so I can try a garden next year.
Brandon is also team roping. Which has led to bringing up an old injury in his hand and is at the orthopedic surgeon today learning if he needs surgery or not on his wrist. He is facing the gloom of being sent to Douglas for work. Good ol' APS is interfiering with our lives yet again. Just in time for winter and other obsticles to surface he will be gone and I will resume all roles of the house and life and keep sane. Not sure how that will go. If you have suggestions please pipe up.
Kohan has started Preschool three days a week at Emkes and LOVES it. He thinks he is just a grown up now and is enjoying sissors time at school. He rides sheep again this weekend at the county fair. He did his first junior rodeo with brandon a couple of weeks ago and thanks to Brandon jogging swiftly around barrels leading foxy Roxy around them, Kohan placed 4th in Barrels and got a check for $10.41. Which he is planning on cashing and buying himself a belt with a buckle since he "didn't win a stinkin Buckle" at the rodeo.
Paige has hit the 6 month mark!! she is rolling like crazy to follow you into a room, and can sit up like a big girl until she is pushed over by her brother. She is such a happy girl but is quickly learning to Whine when her mother enters a room no matter who is holding her.
More to come later with Pictures.. Halloween costumes are sure to be posted.:)

Ranch days

We have been super busy these days. Brandon bought a new horse - Primo. So we have been busy riding him and getting him into shape. We went to the ranch and brandon team roped with his brother and dad. And we did a LOT of riding and gathering to brand the spring calves. It was a long weekend but fun. Here are some pictures.

Paige and her accomplishments

This has been a Huge two weeks for Paigeepoo. She is almost four months and She is officially getting her first tooth! It is coming up on the bottom, and she is a grouch about it. She started on Rice formula. And is ALMOST ready to roll over. She can roll from her stomach to her back but not from her back to her stomach. She discovered her feet, and loves them. I have to put socks on her because she is sucking the ends of her toes raw. And she is trying so hard to laugh but just lets out a little grunt and a sigh.. so cute.

Happy Fathers Day

It's early but I will be down at the ranch in Animas celebrating Fathers day with Brandon. It's where he loves to be for this day and his birthday.
Just want to tell my Husband I love him, unconditionally, no matter what. Thanks for being such an amazing dad and idol to my babies. Your Son loves you and tells me all the time "one day I will ride wild horses like my dad." And "one day mom, can I go to work like my dad? I want to climb high too." And for moments like these: I love watching Paige's face light up when you walk into a room, and to see her smile and laugh at her daddy. She appriciates all the poopy diapers you change and when you save her from her crazy brother!! Happy Fathers Day Brandon!!

And finally to my dad,

We love you! Thanks for being such a good listener when I need to vent, for making anyone who meets you to be able to laugh at your sense of humor, for being the life of a party, an awesome husband to my mom, and for being a good dad, and an even better Pa to my kiddos. Happy Fathers day!!

Fun in the Sun

I hope everyone had an amazing Mothers Day Weekend. I did. Brandon and the boys headed off to Vegas for a guys weekend, and us girls ( my mom, Chelsea, Ashley and I) and my kiddos met up with Brandons parents at the Arizona Grand Resort to do a weekend at the WaterPark. It was so nice. We spent Friday and Saturday hanging pool side watching Kohan be a dare devil and jump into the with his floaties and tube, and drinking colorful drinks.
On Sunday I awoke to my mom and Kohan making me my favorite breakfast - coffee and waffles. We went shopping all day and helped Chelsea with some last minute wedding stuff. Went to the shoe store where everyone had to eww and aahh over all of the shoes Kohan tried on and modeled for us.
Then my hubby came home flowers in tote and cards from my munchkins. All in All, got to hang with my mom and my kids. Great weekend.

love me, hate me, say what you want about me...

Friday night my sister and I got to go see Brittney Spears in concert along with the pussy cat dolls, after leaving a much devistated little boy at home who was crying cause he wanted a ticket to see Britney Spears. Let me just tell you, She may be crazy but that girl can dance and that girl can put on a show. It was 0ne of the best concerts I have been too. She did a lot of her old music as well as her new CD. I have never seen so many Gay Guys in one place before! LOL. For all of you who listen to 104.7 FM we met John Jay and Rich!! . We had drinks at Margaritaville and watched some trashed women make fools of themselves, almost brawled with some 40 year old ladies who apparently don't know how to do a 4 way stop correctly and almost hit my car - sending my sister into a driving war..... ah so fun.. I haven't laughed that hard in a long time!! So shout out to Ashley putting the " Cancer stick smoking Grandma in her place!".

Ms. Chelsea's Bridal show was Saturday in Show Low. It went really well and she got lots of cute things.
Brandon had Rodeo Practice at Toby's house in Pinetop and I ended up picking him up at 10 oclock at night after telling him to set the drink down, walk away from the poker game, and passed all the other lineman there begging for their friend to stay and play. Ah they get older but they are all still little boys at heart.

We went and looked at a house in Snowflake behind the big church on Central and 4th West street. It is an older home, has a great layout of a house.. but needs some major upgrading out of the 80's. When you first see it you have to put on your "potential" goggles. But it is a great deal, and I am ready for the challenge of making it a Great Home. I am 95% sure we are moving into it come the 3rd week of May----- SO Start packing is on my agenda. ( A side note, Brandon's crew is going to Holbrook in two weeks and will be there until August, so yea!)

And last but not least on Sunday I went and test drove some cars and narrowed my search for some new wheels to either a Crysler 300c , a Dodge Charger, or a Ford Edge (random pick from the rest, yes I know). I am still in the deciding factor and we willl see what Hatch Motor comes up with for me. And yes, I am getting a Smoking Deal from Hatch!!
